Kids' Rooms

I am so in love with this painting my lovely and talented sis in law Sarah painted for Brynn's room. Brynn likes to lay in bed and count the birds. Thank you Aunt Sarah!
Isn't it so cute? If you want some easy fashion fixes mixed with witty commentary, check out Sarah's fashion blog or click on her button on the right.
Another thing I love about Brynn's room: the kids' 'coming home from the hospital' outfits.
Eli has a new addition to his room too, a huge BYU flag above his bed. When we were in UT last weekend we stopped at Jake's alma matter and Jake spoiled his boy. The blanket on the bed was Jake's when he was a boy. I'm not sure if the flag was a great idea, every morning since we put it up, I've woken up to loud choruses of BYU! BYU! BYU!
Rise and shout, the cougars are out!

Festival of Sail

Last weekend we were in Salt Lake City, UT for my bro in law's wedding (sad story: I forgot my camera) and we home just in time to catch the end of the Festival of Sail on Labor day. We went after the festival closed to avoid admission fees, so most of the sails were up, but it was still fun to see all those big schooners. The Star of India is a museum and is always in the port of San Diego, so we see this one often.
It's chilly in San Diego! We went from the dry high 80's and low 90's in Utah to 63 when we came back home. Brynn hung out with Daddy the whole time to stay warm.

Our favorite, 'The Pilgrim,' had the most ropes and sails of them all.
Eli was in his element here, the boy loves ships, carriers, subs, sailboats, rowboats...anything that floats.
Eli looks tiny compared to the Star of India
